Like the bite of the lime enhances the tequila my wildly audacious exaggerations and anecdotes are hopefully written to enhance your life. I know, it’s quite the endeavor.
My favorite quote is “I have found that if you love life, life will love you back” which is a romanticized notion that fate, karma or something to that effect predetermines your happy ending. That if you do everything right life will have no choice but to rule in your favor. Now I don’t know if that’s true but I love the thought of it. I love to think that God and the universe has no choice but to be on my side.
It’s comforting mostly because so far my life is not as I planned or fathomed it would be. My whole life I dreamed I would graduate high school and go to interior design school in New York City and become a successful business owner and happy and rich and the whole happy story book ending stuff. Not to say I couldn’t have that but this plot twist happened- I fell in love. Head over heels crazy love that makes you feel like nothing in the world could be better. The riches, the business, the legacy I dreamed of just didn’t measure up to the handsome guitar player I met when I was fifteen. Now, married to him I know that I am my happiest self. I say this as an overly introspective over thinker, not to be confused with a young naive girl as most assume I am. Now I don’t live in New York and don’t go to the school I imagined but I’m still hopeful one day some of these things will be true. In the meantime I’m loving life. Every single minute of it. San Antonio doesn’t measure up in the lustful and alluring way that NYC does but we make do. For the time being it at very least gives me some very good stories. Well, at least I think so.
